The mild winter on Lake Garda offers romantic walks on the lake and gorgeous sunsets initiate the Christmas season. When this begins in Torbole, the small fishing village is clothed in the colors of Advent and countless small lights frame the small harbor, while in the area there are events and typical markets. The adjacent village of Nago organizes the traditional food and wine stroll through the little streets of the village, accompanied by cheerful animation for children.
From mid- November till the 6th of January you can visit the famous Christmas markets of Arco and Canale di Tenno. They are special because they are perfectly placed in a suggestive historical context: Canale di Tenno, with its picturesque medieval corners, and Arco, once small holiday town of the Habsburg family. Wooden houses sprout from the ground filled with handicrafts, traditional gifts and decorations, while a small little train drives through the streets of the center, passing ponies, donkeys and the camel Ali!
And on the first weekend in December, to make it even more suggestive, there is also a firework! Also follow in the historic centers of almost all villages other Christmas folk initiatives and charity markets. The culture of the nativity scenes created by the inhabitants is not missing.
The magical Castle of Drena organizes exhibitions while in town Santa Lucia with her donkey brings sweets to the children. The older children practice in the meantime a magical spectacle in anticipation of Santa Claus and his entourage. Do not miss the house of Santa Claus and the Academy of the Elves at Riva del Garda, an animation that is dedicated to the little ones. Waiting for Christmas has never been so captivating and sweet!
